The Haunting of Our Leased Home
This is the story of when I was in the 10th grade. We were living on lease, and another family was also living on lease with us, independently. Our proprietor was living with his children after the passing of his spouse but would certainly come home once a day to check his house.
His spouse had passed away a long time back due to a disease, and we heard that after that, he leased the house. The leaseholder did not stay for long. This house was her first home, and she loved it exceptionally much.
A small frightening thing happened to us from the start, but we did not think much about it. This thing began in 2010 when we brought my grandfather (dad's father) from our hometown to live with us since he was getting old and couldn't take care of himself anymore. Things began falling apart gradually... At first, it was fine for a few days, but then Dadaji started yelling at night, looking at a corner like somebody was standing there, persistently shouting "go away, I am not going with you, go away." His health began deteriorating.
Another incident happened when the other leaseholder continuously turned off the water supply valve of our water tank to reduce the power charge or something related to the power. We never understood why she did this. So my mother used to wake up at 4-5 am to fill up the tank of water, which was installed on the roof of the house. One day, my mother woke up at 4 am and, while doing her work to fill the tank, saw a shadow and didn't know whether it was her or not. She checked the shadow by moving her hand, but it still appeared. She got frightened and began coming down the stairs and fell on her knees, losing a few toenails. She was in pain but overlooked her wounds, shouting that somebody pushed her. She felt it, somebody pushed her (she was not a believer in ghosts at that time). I could see her eyes; she was exceptionally frightened. We took her to the hospital and did the required treatment.
After a few days, the old tenant moved, and a modern specialist couple came in their place. They once told us they were trying to conceive but failed numerous times. That's when my grandfather's health was exceptionally terrible. He was admitted to the ICU. Doctors said he was stable and would be discharged in a few days.
That night, my mother had a vision that our proprietor's aunt was holding my grandfather in her lap, turned towards my mother, and gave an unpleasant grin. After 2 hours, she got a call from the hospital that my grandfather was no more.
After that, my health began breaking down like dengue, then typhoid, then hypersensitivity. Going to the hospital was like my schedule. One night, the specialist woman had a vision about the proprietor's aunt that she peed on the bed, and the proprietor's aunt was cleaning it up. Suddenly, the proprietor's aunt said, "You will be a mother soon." The next day, she came to us and told my mother about the dream she had the previous night and how she looked (although she had not seen our proprietor's wife in pictures). My mother was astonished since the way she described her was exact.
My mother and the specialist aunt talked to our proprietor uncle and said that he should get the pooja (a custom in respect of the divine beings) performed at home so that her soul could rest in peace. The uncle organized a massive pooja and also gave a lot.
After that, we stayed there for 6 months and did not experience such things. A week after the pooja, the specialist aunt did her test and she was pregnant. Nowadays, she is the mother of a charming adolescent girl.
Last month, the proprietor uncle also passed away due to old age. Till date, I and my mother still think about it and try to understand if it was genuine or if things were gathered to be done like this.
